Evanisha — Born in 1995 in Umjarasi village of Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya, she lives with her mother and siblings. In 2014, when her father passed away, serious family problems began. A friend told her about the skills training programme at Don Bosco Tech Society and asked her to visit one of the centres in Shillong. At the Rural Resource and Training Centre (RRTC) she was counselled, and the trainers' evaluation of her interests helped her decide to enrol for Housekeeping Manual Cleaning Attendant Service. She completed a 60-day training in Housekeeping Attendant (Manual Cleaning) at RRTC, Umran, and training in Bosco Plus (dance, theatrical programmes) and life skills helped her become confident. She appeared for an interview and was hired to work for WeWork TCFM, Bangalore, where the source says she is working as a Housekeeping Trainee and earning a monthly stipend of INR 12,000 with free food and accommodation.
